Activision games in general were usually a breath of fresh air and quite fun compared to the more repetitive and limited gameplay of other carts. River Raid is an A+ game to me (although I prefer the expanded 5200 / A8 version) and it is in my top 3 Atari 2600 games (RR, Kaboom! Enduro) .
